Pacifica Alight Clean Foundation and Liquid Cover Concealer-Review

Hey beauties, I’m ending off this week with a review that is kind of a disappointment for me to say the least. When Pacifica came out with alight clean foundation and liquid cover concealer I was on board to try it. I am a fan of Pacifica the brand even before I went on a clean beauty switch. I always loved their products and still do. That being said I have to always stay honest with my reviews. This foundation was one that didn’t work for me, but the concealer I did actually like.

Just because a product didn’t work out for me, does not insinuate I don’t like the brand, vice versa. If a product I review now or reviewed in the past is/was just not right for me doesn’t mean it will have the same effect on you. We all have different skin types and all react differently to different products.

Let’s get down to what the foundation claims:

After testing so many foundations over this year, I’ve found that water-based foundations just don’t work for me, but yet I still try them in hoping I’ll find one that works. The packaging is a gorgeous, slim, frosty glass bottle with a pump. I am in the shade 26NM Neutral which is the perfect match. Ingredient wise, it’s ok not the cleanest and not the dirtiest. They say it full coverage, I’d agree it gives pretty good coverage. However, it remains sticky/tacky and just dissipates throughout the day.  I wore different primers as wear test to see what works, tried different setting powders and setting sprays to try and make this work. Even with all that, I still felt like it was just sitting on top of my skin instead of soaking in, which made my face feel so oily and separated within a few hours. When any foundation just sits on top of my skin it does sink in to smile lines and wrinkles. It transfers a lot because it stays feeling sticky/tacky. Something I need to point out in this foundation is my eczema hated this foundation as it emphasized the dryness on my skin caused by eczema. No matter what method I used let’s say a sponge, a brush, even my fingers nothing made it work, I just couldn’t tweak this foundation to make it work.

Now on to the good review which is the Liquid Cover Concealer.

First, let me explain mine under the eye area. I have hollows, dark circles, thinner skin, fine lines that is prone to creasing, getting crepey, dryness, and flakiness. I’m also in my mid-30s and but my under the eyes feel older. I’m a 12NM (Neutral Medium), which is a perfect match, it has a peachy/yellow undertone which acts great as a corrector. They claim it to be full coverage but I’d have to disagree on that and say it is light to buildable medium. It goes on so smoothly and it’s easy to blend. It’s not drying, it doesn’t crease, flake or settle in fine lines and lasts all day after setting it. It is great for my dry under-eyes. It also gives that natural under the eye look and makes me look refreshed and a bit younger than I am.
