Hey beauties, I never had the courage to write this post for one reason or another. I still don’t get why this topic of doing this certain thing is controversial. You might think I’m crazy, well I just might be. The warning signs of an oncoming yeast infection can strike at any time without any warnings: irritation, burning, and discharge. Yeast can grow out of check when a person is stressed, has recently used antibiotics or has a weakened immune system. That sounds pretty much like well, me.. Growing up, my mama who was very discreet about certain “woman health subjects” that if it wasn’t for health class I would literally be dumbfounded. Anyways, besides the point, I didn’t learn about certain remedies for your vagina until once I was sexually active. I’ve always been the woman who’d always been discouraged about “old wives tales”, or “home remedies”. I use to always believe whatever the doctor told me to take, and every pain or discomfort I’d go running to my doctor. I always thought antibiotics were the cure for mostly all issues (not life and death), I was so wrong! They take away one bad purpose and attack the good. My mama would always tell me to drink cranberry juice, take probiotics, and eat a healthy diet to keep my insides in good health, which I try to do now. I won’t lie my diet in my early years was out of control and didn’t really take into consideration how it will affect me in general. The saying goes “you are what you eat”, literally speaking.

I’ve heard it all from things like, pee before sex and right after sex, wipe from front to back, don’t douche, don’t use feminine cleansing products, don’t wear tight-fitting pants, wear cotton panties, don’t clean your vagina with soap (that’s another post coming soon), etc. you name it I’ve heard it. One thing I will tell you is not all old wives tale work, some do, some don’t. Do your research, before attempting any home remedies. I recently had caught a UTI that simply will not go away, and it required me to get on antibiotics. Well ladies apparently, you should know what happens when you get on antibiotics: a build-up of yeast! I did not know that, I wish I did because it would have saved me so much agony. As soon as the antibiotics were done, I found myself with another certain issue in my vagina! It was the dreaded yeast infection! It was on a Sunday and I felt it coming in on me hard, and if you know how a yeast infection feels you’d know how gross it is physical wise. By the time it hit me, all the stores, and pharmacies were closed. In a desperate panic, I was searching for a cure, I came across an unusual suggestion. If anyone knows me knows I google everything, and so many sites recommended inserting garlic into your vagina to cure a yeast infection. You are probably asking why in the hell will I put a clove of garlic up in my lady parts?! Like I said I was in need of relief at that moment and didn’t want to wait for a doctor’s appointment. Desperate moments call for desperate measures..

Garlic is known for its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties. Anyone one who knows, knows garlic kills yeast. So it just all makes sense, why not put garlic up in the vagina to kill the yeast infection. A little insight—A high dose of garlic, meaning a cut-open garlic clove, if inserted in a healthy vagina, it will “burn” the healthy skin. When a woman is suffering from yeast infection, the skin is already red and “burned” and the garlic cures the infection by killing the yeast. Then the skin will repairs itself.

So, that night I took a clove of garlic, peeled all the skin out, cut the garlic halfway for better effect, then put the garlic in my vagina and went to bed. It will have a burning tingle sensation but not to the point it’s not tolerable. Also, side note you will taste the garlic in your mouth, and smell like one too. That night I didn’t sleep in the same bed with my husband, it’s not too attractive. Woke up the next morning took the garlic out, (they say tie a string to the garlic for easy discharge) but It was fine it literally wanted to budge out on its own as soon as I got out of bed to walk to the bathroom. I honestly can say it worked! No more itching, burning, or nasty cottage cheese discharge. I was cured with no needed medication, no doctor’s appointment, it was natural, and chemical-free. The trick is to use it as the first sign of an incoming yeast infection. All it took for me was one night of garlic!! If your yeast has been a ongoing for 2-3 days, I’d say use it for a couple of days until you see results don’t take it longer than a week.

Garlic now is my best friend, I eat a piece of raw garlic every morning and right after drink warm cinnamon water right after.

Do you have a recurring problem with yeast infections? Have you tried putting garlic up your vagina or do have any other home remedies? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Until next time,

Xoxo
